Prof. Yosef Yarden studies a newly discovered family of hormones, called growth factors, that play a critical role in embryonic development and wound healing. His research focuses on the functions of these growth factors in the development of cancer and the mechanisms underlying their biochemical activity. He received his Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute in 1985 and has served as the Head of the Feinberg Graduate School’s Board of Biology. In 1998, he was appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Biology. He heads the M.D. Moross Cancer Research Institute, established within the framework of the Jubilee Endowment Drive. A recipient of numerous awards, Prof. Yarden served as the Secretary of the Federation of the Israel Society for Experimental Biology and is a member of both the European Molecular Biology Organization and the National Committee for Biotechnology.
