Prof. Adi Kimchi was appointed Advisor to the President on Women’s Issues and received the Teva Founders Prize.

 

Prof. Gershom (Jan) Martin was nominated the 2008 Robert S. Mulliken Lecturer at the University of Georgia and received the 2008 Wolgin Prize for Scientific Excellence.

 

Prof. Yosef Nir was appointed Dean of the Physics Faculty and Director of the Center for Experimental Physics.

 

Prof. Israel Pecht started his term as Secretary General of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies on January 1. The Secretariat relocated to the Weizmann Institute on that date.
